Fairfield Golf and Country Club Monthly Newsletter for February 2010

                I look forward to this year as President of the Board of Directors.  We have a very hardworking board with great experience, ideas, and a very good grasp on how to keep our expenses down.  Joy is working very hard to keep labor and inventory costs in check so next time you see her, tell her what a good job she is doing.  The board believes that we have a club that we can market to prospective members.  With the consistency in management, Ryan producing quality and timely cuisine, and improved customer service, we would like to actively promote the Fairfield Golf and Country Club to new members.  We appreciate all of the positive marketing that you provide as members and ask that you continue to encourage people to come out and try the club.  We have created a new sub-committee for the board for Membership and Marketing.  Headed up by Richard Marsan, the Membership committee will be integral in making new and potential members feel welcome in the club.  They are also taking an active role in marketing of the club and working closely with Joy on that aspect.

                We have developed a social only membership for new and existing members.  This only includes the use of the clubhouse and for only $350 a year we are able to provide this.  For current members to receive this excellent rate, all you have to do is refer a friend to join the club.  They can join at the same social level or golf, full social.  We appreciate your continued support and we know you will help protect the longevity of the club with a positive message to the public.

                I would like to take a moment to introduce you to some new members.  Ron and Heidi Haines are “new” to Fairfield, although Ron is actually a Fairfield native.  Ron and Heidi have three children, Kiley, Aaron, and Evan.  The boys have taken an interest in golfing and are excited for the warmer weather.  Ron is the Market President at Midwest One and Heidi is an office manager at the Preventative Research Center in Iowa City.  They love the outdoors and athletics so I’m sure we’ll be seeing them from time to time at the pool and on the course.  Welcome to the Fairfield Golf and Country Club Ron and Heidi!! 

                We are honoring past President Tim Kuiken Saturday the 30^th for his two year tenure, which we greatly appreciate.  Thank you Tim for all that you have done for the club!  February 13^th Megan Hunt will be hosting a wine night at the club, be sure to mark it on your calendar.  Also note we have the Food and Wine Show scheduled for May 1^st.  We hope that this date sticks as we have had to reschedule several times! 

                Thank you for supporting the Fairfield Golf and Country Club; it’s an important part of the history of Fairfield and many of your families.  See you at the club!
