March is here and spring is right around the corner! That can only mean that golf season is getting that much closer, and I’ve seen that for some it has already started. I know I’m driving my family crazy watching the Golf Channel all the time just waiting to get out there. I actually DVR’d The Golf Fix this week, as though there’s still some hope for my swing. As most of you golfers are probably aware, our lawn equipment has gotten pretty old and worn out, and as a result it has become very costly to maintain it just to the point of keeping it functioning. In fact, last year, our rough mower got to the point where we quit using it and leased the rough mower from Canaan Lawn Care, who maintains the course for us. As the remaining equipment is in nearly the same shape, we have agreed in principle with You don’t need to wait for golf season to come out and enjoy something new. The lounge remodeling project is nearly complete! With a more functional bar area, the new lounge is designed to complement the atmosphere of the 19th hole while catering to those looking for a little change of pace. Come out and relax with a few beverages and check it out! Finally, I know there are a lot of questions about the status of the kitchen now that Ryan is gone. Well, if you’ve been out lately, I hope most of those questions have been answered. Chris and Michael have stepped up and are doing a wonderful job maintaining both the quality of food, as well as the quality of service for a variety of functions. They both worked closely with Ryan for quite some time, so they know how to cook his favorites, and Chris is close to finishing his culinary degree at Indian Hills, so he’s got plenty of ideas of his own. If you haven’t been out lately, you’ve been missing out! Geoff Ward 2011 FGCC President
